
Oprah Winfrey is a billionaire media executive, an American television personality, talk show host, producer, actress, author, and philanthropist.
She became the first Black female host of a nationally syndicated daily talk show (with the premiere of The Oprah Winfrey Show) in 1986; was named the first recipient of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Bob Hope Humanitarian Award in 2002; and became the first Black female billionaire in the United States in 2003. And in 2011, launched her own TV network, The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
